Just a few months ago I was driving my wife to the hospital to be induced into labor. I had so much running through my mind, so much in fact that I missed the 101 interchange to get to Santa Teresa Kaiser (it didn't help that my wife was online shopping on her phone at the time...). I was thinking about the inevitable changes about to occur, the added responsibility of being a parent and Father, my job, hospital food, and about a million other things... I lost sight of what mattered most... getting my wife to the hospital! I was preoccupied with myself and unimportant meaningless worries.
Life carries a great deal of responsibility with it and we can often worry about stuff that really doesn't matter. This can lead to a selfish focus and narrow mindset if we are not careful. What matters most is your next focus goal, deadline, date, project, etc. Whatever it is, you are driving to an important destination. Don't miss the freeway interchange! Anthony C.
